Spendthrift Farm stallion Flat Out is batting 1.000 in his young career in the breeding shed after his daughter, the aptly named Flat Drunk, became his first starter and first winner when she captured the first race on the card at Keeneland April 13.
When trainer Mark Casse signed the sale ticket for a Flat Out colt on behalf of John Oxley at the Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream 2-year-olds in training sale, the purchase price of $400,000 represented a profit of $310,000 for Q Bar J Thoroughbreds.

Rockridge Stud in Hudson, N.Y., will host its stallion show on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. (EST).
Grade III winner San Pablo has been retired and will join the Rockridge Stud roster in Hudson, NY for 2014, it was announced Dec. 22.
Recently retired three-time grade I winner Flat Out will enter stud for 2014 at B. Wayne Hughes' Spendthrift Farm in Lexington. He will participate in Spendthrift's Share The Upside program and stand for a fee of $10,000.
Three-time grade I winner Flat Out has been retired, owner Art Preston confirmed. Stallion plans are pending.
