Six European invaders will line up to take on three U.S. graded stakes winners in a field of 14 for the $400,000 Belmont Gold Cup Invitational Stakes (G3T) over two miles on the Widener turf course June 9.
A dozen long-winded turf runners will go 1 1/2 miles in the Louisville Handicap over the Churchill Downs lawn, with Danish Dynaformer holding a recency and class edge over warriors Twilight Eclipse and Kaigun.

Greengrassofyoming thrust out his nose in a pulsating four-horse finish to capture the Stars and Stripes Stakes (gr. IIIT) July 9 at Arlington International Racecourse as two-time defending winner The Pizza Man just missed in fourth.
Grade I winner The Pizza Man towers over his field in the Stars and Stripes, but only if he can regain his form of a year ago when he won the Arlington Million. He is winless in two starts this season.

Already enjoying success at distance races on the turf, Da Big Hoss found two miles also to his liking as he launched a big rally in the fourth turn on his way to a clear victory in the $300,000 Belmont Gold Cup Stakes June 10 at Belmont Park.
Trainer Tim Glyshaw called an audible May 21 at Churchill Downs, and it resulted in the first graded stakes victory of his career with Bullards Alley in the Louisville Handicap (gr. IIIT).
Da Big Hoss continued his good form in long turf races when he secured his second graded stakes win of the season going 1 1/2 miles on the grass April 23 in the Dixiana Elkhorn Stakes (gr. II) at Keeneland.

An eye-catching move in the fourth and final turn snapped a 10-race winless streak for Quick Casablanca and gave trainer Ron McAnally his fourth San Juan Capistrano Stakes (gr. IIIT) victory April 10 at Santa Anita Park.
