Grupo 7C Racing Stable's Grand Tito took charge at the three-sixteenths pole and held off Midnight Cello and Csaba to win the $100,000 Miami Mile Handicap April 19 at Calder Casino & Race Course.
Nikki's Sandcastle and Csaba, both seeking a return to winning ways, share co-high weight of 123 pounds in the $100,000 Skip Away Stakes (gr. III) at Gulfstream Park March 29.

Gala Award does not have a pedigree that one would normally associate with a turf specialist, and his connections are now considering races such as the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes.
If you listened closely enough at Gulfstream Park after the $150,000 Palm Beach Stakes (gr. III) March 1, you could almost hear the cheers from California, and perhaps beyond, as Gala Award entered the winner's circle.

"It is a big jump and I think it says a lot about his quality," trainer Todd Pletcher said of Gala Award's grass win. "I'm not going to rule out something like the dirt or the Blue Grass (gr. I)."
