About halfway through the first session of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale, grade I winner Awesome Maria sold for $4 million to owners associated with John Magnier's Coolmore operation.
Champion Groupie Doll, some recent grade I-winning fillies, and Eblouissante, half sister to Horse of the Year Zenyatta, are among the 3,602 horses Keeneland has cataloged for its 2013 November breeding stock sale Nov. 5-14.

Having stunned the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (gr. I) a year ago at odds of 20-1, reigning divisional champion Musical Romance seeks to defend her title in the 2012 edition of the race.
Fans at Santa Anita's Clockers' Corner had plenty of action on the morning of Oct. 25 as 10 horses pointing to the Breeders' Cup breezed. At Calder, defending Filly & Mare Sprint winner Musical Romance worked five furlongs.
The Breeders' Cup announced Oct. 24 that 180 horses, including eight former or defending winners, were pre-entered for the Nov. 2-3 World Championships at Santa Anita Park.

Dust and Diamonds, getting good at the right time, disposed of better-known rivals Musical Romance and Turbulent Descent with ease in capturing the $200,000 Gallant Bloom Handicap (gr. II) by 1 1/4 lengths at Belmont.
Headed by national female sprint champion Musical Romance and multiple grade I winner Turbulent Descent, the $200,000 Gallant Bloom Handicap (gr. II) Sept. 22 at Belmont Park came up as an exceptionally tough race.
Musical Romance, the champion female sprinter of 2011, will be consigned to the upcoming Fasig-Tipton November sale, Three Chimneys announced Sept. 18.
