The $750,000 Delaware Handicap (gr. I) is the highlight of the 2015 stakes schedule at Delaware Park this season, the biggest of five graded events on the calendar at the Wilmington track.
Delaware Park will offer 81 days of live racing this year from May 16 through Oct. 17. The Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission approved the schedule Jan. 14.

Second by a head to Close Hatches last time out in the June 7 Ogden Phipps Stakes (gr. I), multiple grade I winner Princess of Sylmar seeks a rebound July 12 in the $750,000 Delaware Handicap (gr. I) at Delaware Park.

Champion racemare Royal Delta aims for a title defense July 20 in the $750,000 Delaware Handicap (gr. I), seeking redemption after a five-length loss in the June 15 Fleur de Lis Handicap (gr. II) at Churchill Downs.
Delaware Park and the Delaware Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association said April 10 they have signed a contract for 2013 for 81 days of racing, down from the originally scheduled 100 days.
Delaware Park plans to race from May 18-Nov. 9 this year but, as was the case in 2012, the Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission approved the dates even though a contract with horsemen isn't in place.
The Delaware Handicap at Delaware Park and Three Chimneys Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga Race Course have been granted grade I status by the American Graded Stakes Committee, which met Nov. 28 in Lexington.
