Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning discusses the first night of the New York Bred Preferred Yearlings Sale.
Fasig-Tipton will add another component to its Oct. 7 fall mixed sale at Saratoga Springs, N.Y., with an open session of New York-bred yearlings.
The Ocala Breeders' Sales Co. 2014 June sale of 2-year-old and horses of racing age begins a four-day run June 17.
The sale comprises 545 broodmares, 154 racing or broodmare prospects, 615 yearlings, 272 horses of racing age, and four stallions. Sessions begin at 10 a.m. EST each day.
The most expensive Breeders' Cup World Championship winners as determined by their auction prices were sold as yearlings.
Percentage of yearlings sold skyrockets at first three major sales
Beginning with the 2014 breeding season, all foals by stallions who are nominated to the New York Stallion Stakes Series will be automatically eligible for all of the series races without a nomination fee.
