Keeneland officials announced July 31 that 3,908 yearlings have been cataloged for its 2013 September yearling sale. The sale which will run under a new format, will be held Sept. 9-21.
After a strong 2-year-old sales season, Fasig-Tipton Kentucky hopes to build on last year's July sale that saw a 16.3% increase in average price to $81,291 and a 15.1% spike in gross to $15,364,000.

In 2011, there are several reasons why the outlook for buyers and sellers of yearlings should be more positive even though America's economy continues to struggle.
The premier portion of New Zealand Bloodstock's national yearling sales generated a median price that increased 3.7% from a year ago and a gross revenue that was down less than 1%. The average price declined 3.7%.
