Prominent Australian sire Commands died suddenly during the early morning hours July 12 at Darley's Kelvinside Stud in New South Wales. The son of Danehill was 17.
Champion and prominent Australian sire Canny Lad, broodmare sire of leading sire Redoute's Choice, was euthanized recently at Darley's Woodlands Stud, where he was a pensioner. He was 26.
A colt by Exceed and Excel was the top seller March 31 during the sixth session of the Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions yearling sale on Australia's Gold Coast. Consigned by Woodlands Stud, agent, the colt was purchased by Queensland-based buyer Alan Acton for $210,000.

Darley Australia has spent nearly a half-billion Australian dollars (U.S $415 million) to purchase the Ingham brothers' impressive Woodlands Stud operation.
