TVG Wagering Tops $100 Million in Second Quarter

TVG Network processed $114 million in wagers during the second quarter, marking the first time that quarterly wagering went over the $100 million mark and resulting in a 29% increase in wagering over the second quarter of 2004.

TVG Reports Record Handle

TVG posted the highest quarterly handle in company history for the quarter that ended June 30, Ryan O'Hara, TVG president announced Friday. Keys to the second quarter figures were record wagering of $5.2 million on Kentucky Derby day (May 1) and $3.2 million on Belmont Stakes day (June 5).

TVG Revenues Soar

TVG Network reported that revenues for the quarter ending June 30 totaled $3.9 million, an increase of 82.7% over the same period one year ago. For the first six months of this year, revenues rose 91.4% from the year-earlier period to total $5.8 million.

Keeneland Not Immune From Simulcast Decline

Simulcast handle at most Kentucky racetracks has fallen or remained static in each of the past several years. An exception has been Keeneland, which experienced nine consecutive years of growth through 2000, when the amount wagered on simulcasts topped a record $104 million.
