Cheiron Tops Barretts Mixed Sale

The Barretts mixed sale held Oct. 25-26 at the Hinds Pavilion at Fairplex Park in Pomona, Calif., showed sharp declines over the same sale a year ago despite the dispersal of seven horses of racing age from the partnership of Noctis Stable, Neil Papiano and Steve Taub. Only one horse, stakes-winner Cheiron, sold for more than $100,000 when the hammer fell at $165,000 for the 3-year-old.

Two perfect tickets in Wednesday's Pick Six at Hollywood Park were each worth a record payout of $1,312,808.60. The previous Hollywood Park Pick Six record payout was $928,127.40, paid to one winner on July 21, 2002.
