Louisiana Downs announced March 26 that the purse for the 30th renewal of the grade II Super Derby on Sept. 19 has been hiked to $750,000.
Thursday, March 26, 2009John Simon was named the new racing secretary at Delta Downs, which begins its meet Oct. 29. He replaces Trent McIntosh at the Louisiana racetrack.
