When he broke his maiden in January 2005 at Santa Anita Park in his second career start, Thor's Echo had the look of a very nice 3-year-old. He won the six-furlong maiden special weight event by four lengths in 1:09.50 and set course on a "Derby" campaign through the Southwest and Midwest.
