Bold World Wins Two Stakes in Five Days

Bold World earned her fourth career stakes win and her second of this working week when she pulled away in the stretch to beat Miss Dixie Chick by 6 1/2 lengths Friday in the $78,750 Charon Stakes for 3-year-old Florida-bred fillies at Gulfstream Park. On Monday, Bold World won the $50,000 Ocala Breeders' Sales Sprint by 10 1/2 lengths.

Xtra Heat 2-5 Morning-Line Favorite for Interborough

Kenneth Taylor's Xtra Heat will make her first start as a 4-year-old on New Year's Day at Aqueduct when she goes to post as the 125-pound high weight in the $75,000 Interborough Handicap. The $5,000 auction purchase will concede from 11 to 14 pounds to her seven rivals in the six-furlong race and has been installed as the 2-5 favorite on the morning line.

More Black Type for Xtra Heat

Xtra Heat set a quick pace under pressure from Raging Fever and drew off approaching the stretch to lead a strung-out field to the wire in Sunday's $250,000 Stonerside Beaumont Stakes (gr. II). Undefeated in sprints, Xtra Heat has now won 12 of 13 career races, with her lone defeat coming in the 1 1/16-mile Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I). The Beaumont marks her 11th stakes win and third in a graded stakes.

Xtra Heat Wins Ruthless Stakes

Xtra Heat, who capped her nearly perfect juvenile season with a stakes win at Laurel Park on Dec. 29, began her 3-year-old campaign on a similar note Sunday, winning the $80,575 Ruthless Stakes at Aqueduct. The win was the ninth in 10 career starts for Xtra Heat, whose only loss was a 10th-place finish in last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I).
