Somethinaboutlaura successfully defended her title in the $150,000 A Gleam Handicap (gr. II) for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, winning a spirited stretch duel with outsider Strong Faith on the Hollywood Park Cushion Track Friday night.
The speedy River's Prayer turned back favored Indian Flare in the stretch run to earn her first graded stakes win in Sunday's Las Cienegas Handicap (gr. IIIT) for older fillies and mares on the hillside turf course at Santa Anita.
Juddmonte Farms' homebred Indian Flare should be formidable Sunday when she tries to give trainer Bobby Frankel his fourth Las Cienegas Handicap (gr. IIIT) win within six years at Santa Anita on the hillside turf course.
