Tiznow's election into the Hall of Fame was not based solely on his two Breeders' Cup Classic victories. In addition to those two triumphs and his five-length romp in the Santa Anita Handicap, he set a track record in the Super Derby (gr. I), defeated eventual Dubai World Cup (UAE-I) winner Captain Steve in the Goodwood Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II), and captured the San Fernando Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. II) and Affirmed Handicap (gr. III), while placing in five graded stakes.

Cooper also said plans for Tiznow are up in the air, and no firm decision has been made whether the colt will race again next year.

II) at Hollywood Park. Bred in California by Cecelia Straub-Rubens, breeder of reigning Horse of the Year Tiznow, Ceeband returned $91.80, $25.40, and $13.80 and led a $1 exacta worth $167.90.
Sunday, July 01, 20012000 Horse of the Year Tiznow sustained an injury during a workout last Friday, and a nuclear-imaging test conducted Monday revealed a problem with his lumbar vertebrae. "The prognosis is good, but we're going to have to walk him for 60 days before resuming training with him," said conditioner Jay Robbins Tuesday morning from his Santa Anita barn. The injury knocks Tiznow out of the May 12 Pimlico Special (gr. I).
Monday, April 23, 2001Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) winner Tiznow is getting new owners following the death of majority owner Cecilia Straub-Rubens. Her daughter, Pamela Ziebarth, and son, trainer Kevin Cochran, will be the new partners of co-owner Michael Cooper in Tiznow.
