Champion Steinlen Dies After Fracturing Leg

Eclipse Award winner Steinlen died June 9 at John C. Harris' Harris Farms near Coalinga, Calif., after fracturing a rear leg in a paddock accident. Campaigned as a homebred by Daniel Wildenstein, Steinlen was voted champion grass male in 1989 following triumphs in the Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT), Arlington Million (gr.
