No Breeders' Cup for Santa Anita? Magna Says Not Surprising

Santa Anita may withdraw as the host for the 2002 Breeders' Cup because of construction plans. The news has frustrated Oak Tree Racing Association officials, who conduct racing at the Arcadia, Calif., track in the fall. An executive with racetrack owner Magna Entertainment said the news should not surprise anyone since construction plans have been discussed for months.
