Trainer Bill Mott said Oct. 30 that a cut sustained by Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic (gr. I) favorite Royal Delta on her right hip was superficial and should not pose any problems for the daughter of Empire Maker.
The Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic (gr. I) didn't draw the largest field, but it attracted eight fillies and mares that could put on quite a show in the $2 million event Nov. 2 at Santa Anita Park.

Undefeated champion My Miss Aurelia, among the favorites for the Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic (gr. I), breezed a half-mile in :48 at Santa Anita Oct. 28 in preparation for her Nov. 2 World Championships race.
Bill Mott sent his quartet of Breeders' Cup hopefuls out for their final works Oct. 28, with Royal Delta (:48.96), To Honor and Serve (:47.72) and Flat Out (:48.01) all turning in half-miles.
The Breeders' Cup announced Oct. 24 that 180 horses, including eight former or defending winners, were pre-entered for the Nov. 2-3 World Championships at Santa Anita Park.

Love and Pride, staked to a daylight lead in the stretch by John Velazquez, denied the late bid of 3-5 pick Royal Delta to earn her first grade I victory in the $600,000 Personal Ensign Stakes Aug. 26 at Saratoga Race Course.
