Updated: Riverside Fire Kills 27 Horses

A barn fire that broke out the morning of Nov. 20 killed 27 horses at Riverside Downs, a former harness track that is being used as a Thoroughbred training and boarding facility in northern Henderson County, Ky., the Courier Press of Evansville, Ind., reported.

Heat Lamp Likely Source of Fatal Barn Fire in Kentucky

A fire last Friday that resulted in the deaths of 22 horses at the Cross International training center in Henderson, Ky. was apparently caused by sparking from a heat bulb or heat lamp.
