Santa Anita Park concludes its 67th season of racing Sunday featuring the $250,000 San Juan Capistrano Invitational Handicap (gr. IIT) at about 1 ¾ miles on turf, the longest graded race in North America.
Southern Image, winner of the grade I Malibu Stakes on opening day of the Santa Anita meet, is likely to make his next start in the $1 million Barretts/CTBA Classic on the Jan. 26 Sunshine Millions card.
Gary Tanaka's grade I winner Passinetti has returned to trainer Ben Cecil's Santa Anita base after several months at a nearby farm and will aim at a defense of his title in the $400,000 San Juan Capistrano Handicap (gr. IT) at the end of the meeting on Apr. 18.

Denon made amends for two disappointing races earlier this year with a 1 1/4-length victory in Saturday's $350,000 Charles Whittingham Handicap (gr. IT) at Hollywood Park.

Seven turf runners will get a chance to stretch their legs in the 1 1/2 mile $200,000 San Luis Obispo Handicap (gr. IIT) Saturday at Santa Anita. Not surprisingly, trainer Bobby Frankel has the highweight and likely favorite, Denon.
