Graded Winner Richly Blended Retired

Raymond Dweck's Richly Blended, who won a pair of grade III stakes this year, has been retired from racing after suffering a stress fracture of his right front cannon bone. The 3-year-old colt suffered the mishap during a workout Aug. 4 at Monmonth Park in preparation for the Aug. 25 King's Bishop Stakes (gr. I) at Saratoga.

Record OBSC Colt Has New Owner

An Irish River colt sold Tuesday for an Ocala Breeders' Sales Company record price of $900,000 already has a new owner. According to OBSC, agent Buzz Chace notified sales company officials that the colt will be owned by Raymond Dweck rather than Roger King, for whom he was initially purchased.

Raymond Dweck's Stormy Pick dueled early with the previously unbeaten With Ability before running away to a 1 3/4-length victory over Zonk in the $150,000 Sorority Stakes (gr. III) Saturday at Monmouth Park. Under Jose Ferrer, Stormy Pick completed the six furlongs in 1:10.96 over a sloppy track.
