The drive toward national licensing for the horse industry picked up momentum recently when legislatures in Kentucky and Nebraska voted to join the National Racing Compact, an interstate government entity formed last year and comprised primarily of pari-mutuel regulators.
Tuesday, March 13, 2001The first national license went to horse owner Virginia Kraft Payson, who was among those who applied for one last November. The license is accepted in 15 states, with more to come this year.
Thursday, February 15, 2001The criteria for those who wish to apply for a national owners' licenses has been set by the National Racing Compact, which hopes to accept applications beginning in January of 2001.
