The Mike Venezia Memorial Award is presented each year to a jockey who demonstrates the extraordinary sportsmanship and citizenship that defined its namesake, who won over 2,300 races.

Venezia was killed in a tragic spill at Belmont Park on Oct. 13, 1988.
