Bossanova Euthanized After Hollie Hughes Fall

Lorraine and Rod Rodriguez's Bossanova, winner of the Fall Weight Handicap (gr. III) in November, was euthanized Sunday after fracturing both sesamoid bones of his right foreleg during the stretch run of the $81,675 Hollie Hughes Handicap at Aqueduct.

Stakes Winner David Retired

Stakes winner David has been retired from racing because of what trainer Mike Hushion said is a combination of "little problems." The 5-year-old horse is stationed at Richard Simon's Sez Who Thoroughbreds near Ocala, Fla., where he was taken to be prepared for a 2001 campaign. His last race was in August.
