The second foal out of 2009 Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra was born Feb. 12 at Stonestreet Farms near Lexington, Stonestreet representatives confirmed.

Lotta Kim produced a full sister to Rachel Alexandra on Feb. 27, 2011. Photographer Anne M. Eberhardt recently had the opportunity to go visit the new Medaglia d'Oro filly and was able to capture some great images.
There are some popular names in the bloodlines of a number of the yearlings being sold at the most recent Keeneland September Yearling sale. I have been fortunate to photograph a number of them over the years.
Rachel Alexandra did what the fans at Monmouth Park came to see her do -- win the $412,000 Lady's Secret. But it was not a walkover for the reigning Horse of the Year, as she was made to work by pacesetter Queen Martha.
