Leslie's Lady, dam of 4-time Eclipse Award champion Beholder and sire Into Mischief, was named the 2016 Broodmare of the Year by the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association and Kentucky Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders.
Curlin to Mischief sired his first foal when Billiondollarbaby dropped a filly Feb. 2 at Rancho San Miguel in San Miguel, Calif.
The racing days of Beholder have finally drawn to a close, as Spendthrift Farm officially announced the 6-year-old’s retirement Nov. 6, two days after her thrilling victory over Songbird in the Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff (gr. I).
As well as brilliance, Beholder has also showed rare versatility, scoring at 5 1/2, six, eight, 8 1/2, nine, and 10 furlongs.

Smooth as silk under jockey Gary Stevens, Beholder vanquished both two-time champion Royal Delta and Princess of Sylmar while rolling to an open-lengths victory in the $2 million Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I) Nov. 1.

Nominees include eight Eclipse Award winners and the dams of 2012 grade I winners Beholder, Wise Dan, Point of Entry, and Dullahan.
B. Wayne Hughes' Spendthrift Farm has announced a raise in stud fee for its leading freshman sire Into Mischief, who will now stand for $10,000 stands and nurses during the 2013 breeding season.
Beholder, a 2-year-old Kentucky-bred filly by Henny Hughes, demolished a first-condition allowance field at Santa Anita Park Oct. 4 by 11 lengths and had trainer Richard Mandella pondering a follow-up in the Breeders' Cup.

Harlan's Holiday, who currently ranks second on the leading freshman sires list, is one of several grandsons of Storm Cat who are proving themselves as sires. His top runner to date is Into Mischief, winner of the CashCall Futurity (gr. I) at Hollywood Park on Dec. 22. Harlan's Holiday has also been represented by stakes winners Tasha's Miracle, Bear Holiday, P.S.U. Grad, and Harlan's Song.
