Barretts has cataloged 315 horses for its 2009 January mixed sale. The auction will be held Jan. 26 in the Hinds Pavilion, which is located on the grounds of Fairplex Park in Southern Caliofornia. The sale will begin at 11 a.m. (PST).

Multiple stakes winner Song of the Moment sold for $72,000 to Sid and Jenny Craig on Tuesday to top the first session of the Barretts January mixed sale in Southern California. A 4-year-old daughter of River Special, Song of the Moment captured the Juan Gonzalez Memorial Stakes at Pleasanton and the restricted Solano County Juvenile Filly Stakes at Solano in 2000. In her only outing this year, she finished third in the restricted Survive Stakes at Santa Anita Park on Jan. 2.
One mare sold for $10,400 during Keeneland's online auction for horses that did not meet their reserve during the January mixed sale. Stakes winner Crafty Ember, a 15-year-old daughter of Crafty Prospecter, was purchased by Weather Hill, agent, from Lantern Hill Farm, agent. She sold in foal to Catrail.
