Joseph Allen's homebred Ecclesiastic ended a 10-race losing streak when he swept past favored Old Forester in deep stretch to win the $111,600 Jaipur Handicap (gr. IIIT) by a head on the Belmont Park turf.
Stronach Stables' Thunder Touch has been so good on the dirt that trainer Kiaran McLaughlin hasn't been able to try his 4-year-old colt on the lawn. Thunder Touch gets his first chance Sunday in the $100,000-added Jaipur Handicap (gr. IIIT) over seven furlongs on Belmont Park grass.
Trainer Jimmy Jerkens finally got a chance to try Multiple Choice on the turf Sunday afternoon, and the 6-year-old Mt. Livermore gelding rewarded his faith with a late-running neck victory in the $112,200 (gr. IIIT) Jaipur Handicap at seven furlongs on the Widener course.
The lone turf sprint stakes of the Belmont Park season will be run Sunday as a field of eight contest the seven furlong $100,000 Jaipur Handicap (gr. IIIT).
Eight horses were entered to run in the $112,100 Jaipur Handicap, originally carded as a grade III, seven-furlong turf sprint on Belmont Park's Memorial Day undercard, with four others entered for the main track only. The only one left from the main body of the race was eventual winner Garnered.
Juddmonte Farms homebred Shibboleth jumped out to an early lead from the far outside post position under Jerry Bailey and never looked back en route to a two-length victory in Monday's Jaipur Handicap (gr. III) at Belmont Park.

With the countdown on for War Emblem's possible date with history in the June 8 Belmont Stakes (gr. I), the New York Racing Association has set up a strong stakes schedule that will keep everyone happy with a parade of top-quality racing until the big day arrives. In all, 13 stakes will be run between Saturday and the Belmont Stakes.

Under Jerry Bailey, Affirmed Success completed the seven furlongs in 1:21.69 to earn the hard-fought victory in the scratch-plagued race.
