The median price rose 33.3% from 2008 during the opening session of the Tattersalls autumn horses in training sale Oct. 26 in England. However, the gross revenue and average price suffered moderate setbacks, falling 12.6% and 11.1%, respectively.

Aragorn First Horse of Racing Age to be Nominated to Breeders' Cup

Officials of Breeders' Cup have confirmed that Belinda Strudwick's 4-year-old colt Aragorn, who is entered in the April 29 $400,000 San Francisco Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. II) at Golden Gate Fields, has become the first horse of racing age to join the Breeders' Cup program.

A 2-year-old filly from the first crop of Exploit sold for $75,000 Tuesday to top the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic July sale of 2-year-olds in training and older horses of racing age at Timonium in Maryland. Bradley Thoroughbred Brokerage purchased her from Danzel Brendemuehl's Classic Bloodstock, agent.
