Checkoff Program to Benefit TCA, TRF

The board of directors of the Thoroughbred Charities of America has approved grants totaling $1,592,225 to 147 non-profit organizations in 35 states involved with rescue, research, backstretch education, and therapeutic riding programs.

Thoroughbred Charities of America's board of directors has announced the approval of $1.1-million in grants to 52 organizations.

New Thoroughbred Retirement Facility to Open

Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA) is spearheading the development of a new retirement facility for ex-racehorses. The new facility, Greener Pastures Equine Sanctuary, is a 130-acre farm on the Sassafras River near Cecilton, Md., which was donated by Doris Wear and her family.

Thoroughbred Charities Approves Donation to New York Heroes Fund

Thoroughbred Charities of America announced it will be donating $50,000 to the National Thoroughbred Association's "NTRA Charities -- New York Heroes Fund."
