John Ferguson purchased a quartet of 3-year-olds for a total of 10.1 million gns ($19,840,540) on a lively opening breeding stock session of the Tattersalls December Sale in Newmarket yesterday. He also set a new European record for a filly when he bought Satwa Queen for 3.4 millin gns (nearly $6.7 million).

Dalakhani Colt Tops ITS Select Yearling Sale

Buyers at the Italian Thoroughbred Sales select yearling auction Sept. 18 in Rome paid more than 3,043,000 euros ($4,250,554) for 93 horses at an average of 32,720 euros ($45,716). Irish agent Bobby O'Ryan, acting for Hamdan Al Maktoum, purchased the top-priced horse (220,000 euros; $307,329) for a Dalakhani colt.
