A lively trade at Tattersalls' Autumn Horses In Training Sale continued in Newmarket Oct. 29 when Great Voltigeur Stakes (Eng-II) runner-up Top Lock (GB) (Nayef) sold for 410,000 guineas to Saudi agent Saad Al Kahtani.
Naaqoos made most of the running and had enough to hold off a hard-charging Milanais to win the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Grand Criterium) (Fr-I) by a neck at Longchamp Oct. 5.
John Ferguson purchased a quartet of 3-year-olds for a total of 10.1 million gns ($19,840,540) on a lively opening breeding stock session of the Tattersalls December Sale in Newmarket yesterday. He also set a new European record for a filly when he bought Satwa Queen for 3.4 millin gns (nearly $6.7 million).
Friday's session of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale was topped by a 72,000 guineas ($154,418) Acclamation colt consigned from Shinglis Stud and bought by agent Amanda Skiffington.

Tattersalls' October yearling sale continued its strength in Book Two, with gains in totals, average, and median.
Buyers at the Italian Thoroughbred Sales select yearling auction Sept. 18 in Rome paid more than 3,043,000 euros ($4,250,554) for 93 horses at an average of 32,720 euros ($45,716). Irish agent Bobby O'Ryan, acting for Hamdan Al Maktoum, purchased the top-priced horse (220,000 euros; $307,329) for a Dalakhani colt.
The Shadwell Farm-bred Mustameet defeated Steenberg by a length in the Castlemartin & La Louviere Studs Gladness Stakes (Ire-III) at The Curragh Sunday.
A 639-strong entry has been received for the 2006 Vodafone Derby at the initial yearling entry stage, just nine short of the record 648 entries made for the 2005 classic at Epsom Downs.
Part one of Tattersalls' new-look October Sale realized a total $93.68 million (52,631,500guineas) for 512 head sold at an average of $182,976 (102,795gns) and median of $124,600 (70,000gns). The clearance rate was 72%.
Seven-year-old Mubtaker, second in last year's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (F-I) and on the sidelines since then, returned Saturday to win the Geoffrey Freer Stakes (Eng-II) for the third time at Newbury.
Jockey Richard Hills gave his father Barry his first training win in the 2,000 Guineas (Eng-I) since 1979 with a mild upset aboard Haafhd in the first Classic of the European season at Newmarket Saturday.

Sheikh Hamdan al Maktoum's homebred Alshakr (by Bahri) defeated Croeso Cariad (Most Welcome) by 1 1/2 lengths in the Falmouth Stakes, Wednesday's featured event on the Newmarket, England card.
