Kentucky Derby 137 has come and gone, and before we move on to the Preakness let's take a few moments to dissect the race. I have several observations, but let's start out with the winner.
It was an odd journey that made sense in the end.
The morning after saddling Animal Kingdom to win the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I), trainer Graham Motion was still trying to absorb the overwhelming feelings associated with winning America's biggest race.
