Jamie Theriot has appealed the 30-day suspension levied on him by the Illinois Racing Board for his involvement in the May 23 racing accident that caused severe injury to Rene Douglas, Theriot's agent, Fred Aime, said May 27.

Jamie Theriot has ridden five winners on a card several times. He has even bagged six in a day at three different racetracks: Oaklawn Park, Evangeline Downs, and Lone Star Park. But, by Theriot's own admission, there is something special about having a big day at Keeneland. And that is exactly what the 28-year-old jockey did April 11, when he scored four victories on the 10-race card.
