Deep 'Reserve' for Forest Camp

The Pennsylvania Derby (gr. II) wasn't the most prestigious race run in the U.S. on the Labor Day weekend in terms of graded standing, but with a $1 million purse, it certainly was the richest. In a close finish, the race went to Timber Reserve, who emerged as another notable from "second season" 3-year-olds by equaling the stakes record. The Pennsylvania Derby was only the sixth career start for Timber Reserve, who had broken his maiden in his third start at 2, and then ran fourth in the Remsen Stakes (gr. II) on his only other juvenile outing.

A colt by Vindication and a filly by Forest Camp worked eighths in :10 flat to post the fastest times at the distance Saturday at the first session of the Under Tack Preview for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's 2007 March Sale of Selected 2-Year-Olds in Training.

I) winner Lemon Drop Kid breezed four furlongs in :50 over a fast track at Belmont Park Sunday as the 4-year-old son of Kingmambo prepares for a start in the Jockey Club Gold Cup (gr. I). Also working Sunday were Walkslikeaduck, Forest Camp, War Chant, Honest Lady, and Spanish Fern.
