Pick Six Racing's grade II winner Vyjack was sent to New Bolton Center July 31 due to colic symptoms; the Into Mischief gelding will get a few months off following the discovery of a bad case of gastric ulcers.
While trainer Todd Pletcher concedes it's not an ideal situation, he will point both Palace Malice and Verrazano to the $1 million Travers Stakes (gr. I) Aug. 24 at Saratoga Race Course.
Orb is working his way back to racing at Fair Hill, the Elkton, Md. training center where he's been stabled since June 9, the day after finishing third in the Belmont Stakes (gr. I).
Kentucky Derby winner Orb returned to the worktab July 3 for the first time since his third in the Belmont, clocking an easy three furlongs at Fair Hill. Belmont winner Palace Malice is also back in training at Saratoga.
For the second time in eight days, Animal Kingdom breezed six furlongs on the turf in preparation for the Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) Nov. 3 at Santa Anita Park.

Six Thoroughbreds that were traveling by van from Palm Meadows Training Center in Florida to Fair Hill Training Center in Maryland April 18 were involved in an accident along Interstate 95 in Colleton County, S.C.

By Terry Conway - It was one of those eureka moments. In early 1992 veterinarian Kathleen Anderson drove through the front gates and down the dirt and gravel road at the Fair Hill Training Center. The barns were in tatters. Top-flight horses non-existent.
The Fair Hill Training Center in Elkton, Md., plans to install the Tapeta all weather surface on its training track during the summer of 2006,it announced May 31.
American steeplechase fans will have the opportunity to wager on a full card of jump racing May 27 with the annual spring running of the Fair Hill Races near Elkton, Md.
It is obvious watching Barbaro the past two mornings that the winner of the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) is enjoying the tranquil life at Fair Hill Training Center, as he prepares for Saturday's Preakness Stakes (gr. I). The son of Dynaformer appears more relaxed than he was at Churchill Downs, especially coming off the track after training.
The sight is devastating. Charred posts and jagged pieces of tin are jutting into the air from the blackened remains of what was a 40-stall horse barn on the peaceful rolling hills of the Fair Hill Training Center.
More than 30 Thoroughbreds were killed the evening of Nov. 1 in a barn fire at the Fair Hill Natural Resources Management Area in northern Maryland, the Baltimore Sun reported in its Nov. 2 edition.
The Fair Hill Races, the only National Steeplechase Association race meet with pari-mutuel wagering, brings out the horses and the fans for its annual Memorial Day meet Monday.
