UK's MacLeod Awarded Two Grants

James MacLeod, John S., and Elizabeth Knight, chair and professor of veterinary science at the Maxwell H. Gluck Equine Research Center and director of the University of Kentucky's Equine Initiative, was recently awarded two grants totaling more than $1.1 million over three years. Three other equine researchers in UK's College of Agriculture were also collectively awarded more than $500,000.

The University of Kentucky Equine Initiative will hold a career fair March 31 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in Seay Auditorium in the Agricultural Science North building on the UK campus.

UK To Offer Equine Undergraduate Program

On Jan. 29, the University of Kentucky announced plans for a new equine undergraduate program, planned improvements to its Maine Chance Farm near Lexington, and a $1 million endowed professorship to honor Stanley Smith Dickson.

Dan Rosenberg Named Executive in Residence for UK Equine Initiative

Dan Rosenberg, president and chief operating officer of Three Chimneys Farm near Midway, Ky., has been named executive in residence for the Equine Initiative within the University of Kentucky's College of Agriculture. Rosenberg will continue in his present position at Three Chimneys in addition to the new role.
