Intercontinental Holds Off Amorama in Palomar

Multiple graded stakes winner Intercontinental, ridden by Jerry Bailey, took the early lead and held off a late challenge by Amorama in Saturday's $180,000 Palomar Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. IIT) for fillies and mares at Del Mar. In the co-featured El Cajon, Bob Baffert tied the record for stakes victories.

Perfect Moon Shines Over Borrego in El Cajon

Royce S. Jaime's Perfect Moon, who last summer won the Best Pal Stakes (gr. II) and then was third to Siphonizer in the Del Mar Futurity (gr. II), cruised to a decisive 4 1/2-length victory Friday night in the $79,550 El Cajon Stakes for 3-year-olds.
