The results will be announced during Kentucky Derby Week, on April 29, at Churchill Downs. Hall of Fame induction ceremonies are scheduled for Aug. 4, at the Fasig-Tipton Sale Pavilion in Saratoga Springs, New York.

Retired jockey Sam Maple, who won more than 2,500 races, died Nov. 13 of cancer at his Wilmore, Ky., home. Maple, whose older brother Eddie was an established New York rider for years, scored aboard such major winners as champion Smart Angle, plus Smarten, Jatski, and Heatherten.
