Apprentice jockey Cruz Contreras, the leading jockey at Arlington Park, was taken by ambulance to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights following a two-horse spill in the second race Monday at the suburban Chicago racetrack.
Monday, May 31, 2004Jockey Iggy Puglisi suffered several injuries in a fall at Los Alamitos Racetrack Saturday night. According to his agent, Richie Silverstein, 26-year-old Puglisi broke three vertebrae and bones in his right knee.
