The Scripps Howard Foundation has signed on to help sponsor "Charity Night at the Tables, a Celebration of Community Giving," allowing the annual Northern Kentucky gala to benefit eight local charities in 2007, up from six in recent years. Selection of the eight charities was announced by Ruth Eger, vice president of the Northern Kentucky Leadership Foundation of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
Wednesday, October 18, 2006Several local charities have already organized events surrounding the $500,000 Lane's End Stakes (gr. II) at Turfway Park March 25. Altogether, about $100,000 is expected to be raised for various causes in the two weeks leading up to the race.
