Fasig-Tipton has cataloged 167 horses for its Florida select sale of 2-year-olds in training. The number is down 30.4% from last year's total of 240.
Fasig-Tipton will conduct its Florida select sale of 2-year-olds in training next year later than usual. The auction is scheduled for March 26 at the Palm Meadows Training Center near Boynton Beach.

Magna Entertainment's Palm Meadows, a Thoroughbred training center designed to relieve the stall shortage in South Florida, will be ready for equine residents this winter but dormitories for employees may not be ready.
Gulfstream Park chairman Doug Donn visited Palm Meadows, the training facility being constructed by the track's parent company, Magna Entertainment Corp., on Feb. 22 and said he was pleased with its progress. The site is located 55 miles north of Gulfstream in Boynton Beach, Fla.
In a ceremony highlighted by Frank Stronach wearing a hard hat and wielding a shovel, Magna Entertainment Corp. officially broke ground on its new South Florida Thoroughbred training facility Tuesday.
Magna Entertainment Corp. will break ground Oct. 30 on Palm Meadows, a major training facility to be located in west of Boynton Beach, Fla., about 47 miles from the company's Gulfstream Park.

Magna Entertainment's plans for a year-round training facility in South Florida moved forward Aug. 27 when Palm Beach officials amended local laws to allow the company to build accomodations for up to 500 grooms at its site near Boynton Beach. The previous limit was 20 grooms' quarters.
Current regulations in Palm Beach County could threaten Magna Entertainment's plans for a large South Florida training center because of the inclusion of housing for up to 500 grooms, according to a report in the Palm Beach Post.
