Kentucky November Mixed Sales' Dates Changed

Keeneland and Fasig-Tipton have made changes to their November sales schedules to better accommodate horsemen attending the Breeders' Cup World Championships at Santa Anita Park Nov. 6 and 7. Keeneland's November breeding stock sale will begin Tuesday, November 10, at 10 a.m. (EST) and run through Sunday, November 22. Fasig-Tipton will conduct its select mixed sale on Tuesday, November 10, starting at 5 p.m. (EST).

N.Y.-Bred Sale Next Up for Fasig-Tipton

Fasig-Tipton reversed the negative business trends seen at Thoroughbred auctions this year at its recent Saratoga select yearling sale, where the gross revenue, average price, and median price all enjoyed significant upswings from 2008. The second and final auction on the company's upstate New York calendar is the New York-bred preferred yearling auction, which will be held Aug. 15 and 16. Each session will start at 7 p.m. (EDT).

When Dubai-based Synergy Investments purchased Fasig-Tipton last year, officials of the auction firm said that one of the company's missions would be to bring in new participants to Thoroughbred racing.
