Stakes winner Alyzig, along with Crimson Hero, Contemplate, Cyclone, and Speed Jaro, will stand at Joseph Vaughan's Ballyvaughan Farm near Oxford, Pa.
Alyzig and Night Life, who ran first and second for trainer Kristin Mulhall in the Exceller Handicap on Jan. 25, are among the dozen turf runners entered in the $400,000 Frank E. Kilroe Mile (gr. IIT) at Santa Anita Saturday.
Mayakovsky, a strapping dark bay or brown son of Matty G, raced to a front-running one-length victory in a one-mile turf race at Santa Anita Thursday. After the race, trainer Patrick Biancone proclaimed the Florida-bred 4-year-old on course for the $1 million Sunshine Millions Classic at 1 1/8 miles on the dirt at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 25.
Columbine Stable's Sligo Bay, with the venerable Laffit Pincay Jr. riding, caught front-running Grammarian in the stretch and went on to a one-length win in the $250,000 Hollywood Turf Cup (gr. IT) at 1 1/2 mile Saturday.
Given a long break during the summer, Sligo Bay returns to score a convincing victory in the Hollywood Turf Cup.
Longshot Special Matter, with Tyler Baze aboard, captured the $150,000 Carleton F. Burke Handicap (gr.IIT) at 1 1/2 miles on the turf at Oak Tree Sunday.
A six-horse field was entered for Saturday's $200,000 Bay Meadows Breeders' Cup Sprint Handicap (gr. III), with Swept Overboard drawing post three for the six-furlong heat.
On Sunday, Snow Ridge continued his impressive run through the sprint stakes schedule at Santa Anita, leading wire-to-wire in winning the $150,000 San Carlos Handicap (gr. I). Earlier at the meet, Snow Ridge won the El Conejo (gr. III) and Palos Verdes (gr. II) handicaps.
