HRTV Special to Present John Henry's Santa Anita Victories

HorseRacing TV will celebrate the 30th birthday of the five-time Eclipse Award winner John Henry with a one-hour special presentation of the gelding's record 12 stakes victories at Santa Anita. "Standing Tall: John Henry at 30," will air at 11 a.m. ET (8 a.m. PT) March 9 without commentary and will feature the dozen stakes wins wire-to-wire with the original track announcers' calls.

Tribe Seeks to Reopen Santa Fe Racetrack

The Pojoaque Pueblo tribe has filed an application with the New Mexico Racing Commission to reopen The Downs at Santa Fe, which would become the sixth racetrack in the state. The tribe wants to begin live racing in 2007 and also hopes to install slot machines.

Grade I Winner Musical Chimes Retired

Grade/group I winner Musical Chimes, who ran a troubled fifth in the March 5 Frank E. Kilroe Mile Handicap (gr. IT), has been retired from racing to become a broodmare at owner Sheikh Maktoum's Gainsborough Farm near Versailles, Ky.

Summerly and Runway Model Set for Rematch in FG Oaks

A pair of top 3-year-old fillies will clash when Summerly and Runway Model hook up in the March 12 Fair Grounds Oaks (gr. II), going 1 1/16 miles at the New Orleans oval. Runway Model will be making her 3-year-old debut, while Summerly has two wins to her credit this season.
