California shipper Fencelineneighbor moves into Hot Springs to challenge five other older fillies and mares in the $175,000 Azeri Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. III). Formerly known as the Oaklawn Breeders' Cup Handicap, the traditional prep for the Apple Blossom Handicap (gr. I) was renamed this year for the three-time winner of the Apple Blossom, thrice an Eclipse champion older mare, and 2002 Horse of the Year.

Ultracade, NTRA Debut Breeders' Cup Arcade Game

UltraCade Technologies, Breeders' Cup Limited, and the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) have released a new, officially licensed arcade game, "Breeders' Cup – Tournament Edition" at the Amusement Showcase International (ASI). The ASI show was attended by nearly 3,300 members of the coin-op industry, which is comprised largely of video game distributors and operators.

Magna Entertainment Corp. must establish a stronger balance sheet before it considers expansion or the acquisition of other racing and gaming properties, said Thomas Hodgson, the newly appointed chief executive officer of the company.

Crute Artwork to be Auctioned at RTCA Benefit

Above and Beyond, a painting by noted Ocala, Fla. artist Sharon Crute, will be auctioned during the "Throwing Full Crosses" banquet to benefit Race Track Chaplaincy of America's Ocala Farm Ministry. The banquet will be held 6:30 p.m., March 19 at the Gallery Square, next to the Arthur Appleton Museum on Silver Springs Blvd. in Ocala.
