Stakes winner Outta Here, who dead-heated for third in the July 13 Swaps Stakes (gr. II) at Hollywood Park, worked five furlongs in :58 2/5 under jockey Kent Desormeaux on Tuesday at Del Mar and was confirmed as heading to Mountaineer Park for the $600,000 West Virginia Derby (gr. III) by trainer Bill Currin, who is also the colt's co-owner.
Saratoga Notebook: Albarado on Sky Mesa; Favorites Rule; No Decision on Congrats; Sackatoga Stable Grows
Jockey Robby Albarado has picked up the mount on Sky Mesa for the Haskell Invitational and trainer Shug McGaughey is undecided on whether to run Congrats in the Haskell or the Jiim Dandy. Also, favorites are having a good Spa meet, Kissin Saint may make his next start on grass, Sackatoga Stable has expanded, and the Dogwood Dominion Award goes to a backstretch "community leader."
Discussions are underway to send champion Kona Gold to the Kentucky Horse Park's Hall of Champions. The 9-year-old gelding was retired following a fifth-place finish in the July 26 Bing Crosby Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II) at Del Mar.

The Aug. 9 West Virginia Derby (gr. III) at Mountaineer Park has attracted a list of 69 nominations, including 13 graded stakes winners from the United States and Canada. Nominations for the 1 1/8-mile race closed July 26.
One of last season's top 2-year-old fillies on the grounds is back for a crack at the top 3-year-old filly stakes this season. Buffythecenterfold, owned by Allen Brian and Stronach Stables and trained by Mel Stute, leads the pack of prospects for Saturday's 35th edition of the grade II, $150,000 San Clemente Handicap.
A field that could number as many as nine or 10 is beginning to take shape for the 62nd running of the grade II, $250,000 San Diego Handicap Sunday at 1 1/16 miles on Del Mar's main track.
