Shuffling Kid's Baldwin Win Keys $62K Superfecta

Shuffling Kid brought a clear lead into the stretch, then held off a host of challengers at the wire to win Sunday's $114,400 Baldwin Stakes (gr. IIIT) in a blanket finish at Santa Anita. Under Patrick Valenzuela, Shuffling Kid barreled down the firm hillside turf course, finishing the 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:13.30.

Bonapaw Sets Stakes Record in Dubai Prep

In his final race before competing in the $2 million Dubai Golden Shaheen (UAE-I) next month, Bonapaw carried 125 pounds to the winner's circle while setting a stakes record time in the $100,000 Taylor's Special Handicap at Fair Grounds Sunday.

Gulfstream Park Race Report: Donnybrook

Girls just want to have fun. So sang Cyndi Lauper, the guest musician in Gulfstream's entertainment complex on Feb. 24, whose presence attracted the third-largest Sunday crowd ever at the track. Rosemary Homeister Jr. and Ms Brookski had fun also, by winning the meet's first two-turn stakes race for 3-year-old fillies on dirt, the Davona Dale Stakes (gr. II).

Good Vibrations Surround Fasig-Tipton Calder Sale

With apologies to the Beach Boys, there have been some good vibrations going on at Calder Race Course in the days leading up to Tuesday's Fasig-Tipton Florida select sale of 2-year-olds in training. The auction could benefit from the participation of Sheikh Mohammed of Dubai and Ryanair founder Tony Ryan of Ireland. Both men have been very active in other areas of the Thoroughbred market, but have not been prominent before as buyers at juvenile sales.

Imperial Gesture to UAE 1000 Guineas Following Sunday's Victory

Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) runner-up Imperial Gesture romped to a nine-length win over Godolphin stablemate Seba in the Moonshell Mile at Nad Al Sheba Sunday. A Godolphin horse also won the next race on Sunday night's Nad Al Sheba card, when Narrative earned his third straight win in the Dubai City of Gold (UAE-III).
