Hall of Fame trainer Philip Johnson will saddle two horses in Sunday's $100,000 Pilgrim Stakes (gr. IIIT), Belmont Park's closing day co-feature race.
Walkslikeaduck, one of the most interestingly named horses aiming for the Breeders' Cup Nov. 4 at Churchill Downs, remains on target for the Mile in the Santa Anita stable of trainer Paddy Gallagher.

Fusao Sekiguchi's Kentucky Derby (gr. I) winner and Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) contender Fusaichi Pegasus, trained by Neil Drysdale, continued Friday to leave a favorable impression in his morning training at Churchill Downs. Meanwhile, Drysdale may have added another contender to his strong Breeders' Cup hand with Stonerside Stable, LLC's recent acquisition Freefourracing.
Joe Orseno said Friday that Jerry Bailey will ride Golden Missile in the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I), replacing Kent Desormeaux, who also is the regular rider for Fusaichi Pegasus. Bailey also will ride Perfect Sting in the Filly & Mare Turf (gr. IT) and Macho Uno in the Juvenile (gr. I) for Orseno.
It is not surprising that Frank Stronach's high profile stable is atop the owners' list by earnings for 2000 with more than $9.1 million earned through Oct. 16. After all, the Magna International chairman and racetrack operator has been building a successful racing and breeding operation over the past decade.
The owners' standings, however, do offer a surprise when ranked by number of wins, with New England owner Michael Gill on top with 168 winners from 960 starters. Second is Richard Englander's 154 wins, followed by the 138 for Stronach.
British horse owner Robert Sangster has reportedly scored a major sponsorship agreement for horses trained by John Gosden at Manton and raced under the Swettenham Stud banner.
A commitment to promoting a positive image and generating public awareness for the success of horses that have been sold at 2-year-old in training sales served as focal points during the third open meeting of the National Association of 2-year-old Consignors.
First-crop stallion Valid Wager has been bought by Tom and Debi Stull from Harry Mangurian Jr.'s Mockingbird Farm.
