Fasig-Tipton has catalogued a record high of 604 yearlings for its Kentucky summer select sale in Lexington on July 17. The first 260 head in the book will be offered under "The New Sire Showcase" banner, which identifies the progeny of stallions whose first crops are yearlings or 2-year-olds of 2002.
"The profile of our July sale has been raised over the past few years by graduates like Silverbulletday and Captain Steve, and in 2002 by Harlan's Holida, Repent, and Take Charge Lady," said Bill Graves, Fasig-Tipton's director of yearling sales. "As a result, nominations to our summer sales (including Saratoga) have been up in quality and number. We have been able to select from a bigger pool. I am very pleased with the sire power and conformational quality of this year's catalogue."
Catalogues for the July sale will be mailed on June 14. The entries will be available for review online beginning on June 10.
