Kent Stirling, executive director of the Florida Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association, and Dr. Rick Arthur, a vice president of Oak Tree Racing Association, have been named to the National Thoroughbred Racing Association's Racing Integrity and Drug Testing Task Force.

Stirling replaces Bill Walmsley as the National HBPA's representative on the task force. Stirling also sits on the Racing Medication and Testing Consortium, the official name of the group that first met last December at the Racehorse Medication Summit in Tucson, Ariz. Stirling has been chairman of the National HBPA's medication committee for five years.

Arthur will be co-chair of task force along with Ogden Mills Phipps. Arthur replaces Dr. Jack Robbins.

Arthur is a past president of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and has served the AAEP in numerous positions, including chairman of the Racing Council, Racing Committee and Sports Medicine Committee. He currently represents the AAEP on the Racing Medication and Testing Consortium.
